We supply and install used pallet racking, shelving and mezzanine floors across the North West. We check the available stock against your layout, loading requirements and handling equipment, then provide a quotation and installation programme.
Availability varies by system, size and quantity. Contact us with your requirements, or arrange a site survey to discuss the options.
How We Reuse Storage Equipment
Suitable equipment doesn’t need to be scrapped. Here’s how we keep it in use.
Potential Carbon Savings Through Reuse
Making new steel is carbon-intensive, so reusing suitable racking and mezzanine steelwork can avoid some of the emissions of manufacturing replacements. Recycling what can’t be reused recovers the steel for new products.
The actual saving depends on the project: the weight of steel reused, how far it travels, and any refurbishment and processing. We can record the quantities of steel and decking reused and recycled on your project, as a starting point for a project-specific carbon assessment that can feed into your own sustainability reporting.
Chipboard and timber decking is assessed separately for reuse. Unsuitable boards are sent for recycling where an appropriate route accepts them.
What Used Equipment Do We Offer?
We supply and install second-hand storage equipment, specified around your building’s layout and the loads you need to store.
Used Pallet Racking
Adjustable pallet racking, narrow-aisle and drive-in systems, including Apex, Dexion Speedlock, Dexion P90, Link 51, Mecalux, PSS, Stow and Storax. We supply frames, beams and decking, with loading data confirmed for the identified product.
Used Mezzanine Floors
Suitable recovered steelwork can be assessed for a new mezzanine design. Its original load rating doesn’t automatically apply to a different span, column arrangement, connection detail or building, so the new floor needs its own structural checks, slab or foundation assessment, decking specification, access arrangements, fire safety design and Building Regulations approval.
Used Shelving & Longspan
Shelving systems for picking by hand, archive storage and multi-tier stock.
Before we offer used components for reuse, we identify the manufacturer and product, review the available history, and check their condition, compatibility and loading data.
Why Buy Used Storage Equipment?
Lower Cost
Used equipment is often cheaper than new. We can quote both so you can compare the total installed cost for your project.
Availability
We may have suitable stock available, depending on the system, size and quantity. Used installations still need design, checks and site preparation, so we give you a programme with your quotation.
Selected for Continued Use
Suitability is based on condition, history and the proposed installation.
Future Changes
Systems are reviewed for suitability before any future changes or relocation.
Identified & Checked
Components are identified, inspected, checked for compatibility and supplied with loading information for your installation.
Potential Carbon Savings
Reusing suitable steel can reduce the carbon of your fit-out, which can support your sustainability reporting.
Used vs New: What We Compare
We can quote used and new options side by side for your project. Both need appropriate design, loading information and installation.
| What to compare | New | Used |
|---|---|---|
| Total installed cost | Supply, design and installation | Often lower; depends on the stock, its condition and any refurbishment |
| Availability | Depends on manufacturer lead times and stock | Depends on the system, size and quantity available |
| Suitability | Specified for your layout and loads | Identified, checked and verified for your layout and loads |
| Future parts | Current product ranges | Depends on the range and generation; compatibility is checked, not assumed |
| Warranty | Set out in your quotation | Set out in your quotation |
Frequently Asked Questions
Second-hand equipment must meet the applicable safety requirements for its proposed use. We establish suitability by identifying the manufacturer and product, reviewing the available history, checking condition and compatibility, and confirming reliable loading data for the new installation.
Some problems, such as overload damage and internal corrosion, can be difficult to detect, and visually similar components can have different properties. Components without reliable identification or loading data aren’t offered for reuse. Load notices then show the verified loading information for your installation.
We check uprights, beams, connectors, locks and footplates for damage, distortion and corrosion, confirm the manufacturer and product range, and check that components are compatible with each other. Components unsuitable for reuse are segregated and recycled where possible.
For us, refurbishment means inspection, cleaning, any specified surface preparation and replacing unsuitable components. Repainting doesn’t restore structural capacity, so it never replaces the checks above.
Racking: we design a new layout around your building using suitable components. We don’t cut, weld or otherwise alter racking components outside the manufacturer’s approved procedures.
Mezzanines: suitable recovered steelwork can be assessed for a new design, which then needs its own structural checks, slab or foundation assessment, fire safety design and Building Regulations approval.
We can often supply matching or compatible parts for common racking ranges. The same brand can have different ranges, generations and connection details, so we identify the exact system and check compatibility before supplying anything. Future availability of a particular range can’t be guaranteed.
It depends on what’s in stock and the work involved. Used installations still need design, checks and site preparation, and used mezzanines also need engineering and Building Control approval. We give you a programme with your quotation.
Warranty terms vary with the equipment and work involved, and are set out in your quotation.
Yes. If you’re relocating, upgrading or clearing a site, we offer dismantling, purchase of suitable equipment and site clearance across the North West, helping you recover value from equipment you no longer need. Sell your old equipment →
Savings depend on the equipment, its condition and how much refurbishment it needs, but used storage is often cheaper than new. We can give you a comparison against new for your project.
